WHAT MOTIVATES YOU: 34 years in the biz and I still love going to work each day 🙂 I’m motivated by the FranksWine Crew, my loyal customers, new customers and my industry friends. I love the fact that I have employees like Michael (17 years), Pat (18 years), Rob (19 years), Bob (24 years), and TC who started when he was 21, went on to his 20 year career with the Wilmington Police Department and just came back after retirement. THAT motivates me! I love the fact that I have loyal customers who have been shopping here on North Union Street since 1986 and now their children are old enough to shop here and they tell me they wouldn’t go anywhere else. THAT motivates me! I love when I see new customers walk in the shop for the first time and they oooh and ahhh at the aesthetics and our selection and outgoing crew and I hear them say Your store is beautiful, I can’t believe I’ve never been here, I’ll be back! THAT motivates me! I love the friends that I’ve made in the wine industry and I feel fortunate that I can play a part in helping them out during a tough time. In the 10 week period that our Delaware restaurants were closed we brought in 30 out-of-work servers, bartenders, chefs, hostesses, busboys, etc as a FranksWine Employee-for-the-Day and together they raised over $19,000.00 in tips and commissions on sales which went directly in their pockets. Now we’re onto working with #WilmingtonStrong Small Business Fund which gives grants to small businesses in our community which were affected by Covid-19 and the recent riots. These grants will help to pay their rent, insurance deductibles, utilities, and suppliers. Our goal is $10,000.00. THAT motivates me!

ABOUT WILMINGTON STRONG FUND: The Wilmington Strong Small Business Fund was created in order to support small businesses citywide during the COVID-19 pandemic and the most recent events. Through a public-private partnership, local economic development organizations came together to act quickly, to ensure Wilmington businesses will remain open for years to come. The Wilmington Strong Small Business Fund will offer grants, approximately $1,000, to small businesses located in the City of Wilmington in order to cover specific expenses such as rent payments, mortgage payments, utility and supplier bills.

UNION PARK BMW CUSTOMER: For life! We have a long family history with Union Park.
WHAT MOTIVATES YOU: I enjoy seeing the community prosper and grow, that is why I was excited to purchase my BMW from Union Park. The Union Park family has a history of investing in the community and that’s the kind of business in which we enjoy supporting.
Also, I am a Co-Founder of the Town of Whitehall, which is Delaware’s newest walkable town. I’m the Chairman of the Board of the Grand Opera House and a founding member of the 22in22 organization. 22in22 has created an annual event called Vet Fest that unifies the community around our veterans, their families and raises funds for the non-profit, Stop Soldier Suicide.
